The morning after Jared and I got engaged - we were off to go wedding dress shopping!
I've been thinking so much about motherhood this week- what it means to me, and how the women in my life have defined it. And I've thought a lot about something a friend of mine had said. For her, mother's day isn't just a day for her family to celebrate her, but a day for her to celebrate her family, children, motherhood.
How perfectly put, and understood.
Motherhood is cause for celebration.
It is cause for rejoicing, a cause for happiness and peace within.
This weekend, my parents (and brother) are coming to visit us. We will be busy chatting, cooking, shopping, and the men in our lives will be busy building a railing for our backyard deck. (I'm so excited!)
My mom will kiss my child a million times, and I will be counting (all weekend long) the many reasons I love her.
And I, too, will be celebrating the gift of my own child. The gift of motherhood.
