Hello from Boise and a little fsf.

Greetings from the Boise valley! The boys and I made it the whole way here without having to stop more than once. Morgan is a golden rider. Danny is not. I'm contemplating investing in earmuff things for the ride home so I can just tune him out. That, or I may make him ride in the back.

We came to go to the zoo, pick pumpkins from a patch, play with grandma and grandpa....and to shop. I'm not going to lie, there are about twenty stores on my list and I brought the truck, which means I'm loading up. Mr. Keller won't be surprised if he goes broke. I told him I'd go easy.

ps...my beloved christopher is back with the old further seems forever gang. great song. he's still just as handsome. such a crush I still have.

Because

it's the weekend.
and it's rainy.

because I'm sleepy.
and because Mr. Keller hasn't shaved today:

PS - we've never had 'a song', but we both decided on our way back from utah, that if we were to have one, this would be it.

PSS - this is Jesse, remember? I seem to be loving him as much as chris lately. He's that good.

Come down now, they'll say

Mr. Keller was sweet enough to let me sleep in today, so I have big plans. Get dressed, shop a little, make dinner, wrap more presents and lastly snuggle in bed with all my boys later on. I've already started a batch of wash, made beds, cut morg's hair and put danny down for nap. It's looking promising.

I've fallen quite in love with the bearded man below, and can't seem to stop listening to his honey butter voice. This song for some reason makes my heart a little lonely, and has me wishing for a slow saturday night.

Have a sweet day, wherever you are.

{wednesday}

It's nine degrees right now, and when I woke up, it was three degrees. I already opened the blinds, but I think I'll go shut them all and turn off all the lights. Bake something. Make a few memories with my babies.

PS: a song for staying cozy. xo.

November Sixteenth: music that moves

When we drive in the car, or dance in the front room, the music must be loud.  Loud enough that when daddy comes in the room, he can't wait to turn it down.

I've always been like that. And of course I married someone a little like Scott. (If it's not my dad, it's my husband!)

Even still, I do what I want.

It has something to do with good taste. Good music must be heard. And we allow only classics. We forbid all the rest. And we sing our hearts out when needed.

Before Danny was born, I spent the evenings singing Golden Slumbers to Morgan until he fell asleep. He called it his 'favorite', and I drank up every moment. My favorites are fastly becoming his.

He is, after all, my son. And him and I, we soar on the following:

Sinatra, older Metallica, older Weezer, The Joshua Tree, The Moon is Down, Ben Folds, Phantom of the Opera, Copeland, Postal Service and anything coming from the lips of my boyfriend Christopher Carrabba.

And for the record, here's the list of songs I had put on a cd and packed away in my hospital bag to listen to during Danny's labor:

so impossible - dashboard confessional
look after you - the fray
still fighting it - ben folds
remember to breathe - dashboard confessional
when finally set free - copeland, (my theme song when things got very ouchie!)
the luckiest - ben folds
anchor - mindy gledhill
turpentine chaser - dashboard confessional
you are my sunshine - copeland
boston - augustana
a plain morning - dashboard confessional
these blooms are in full - one amazing kid
sun (acoustic) - mae
new year's project (acoustic) further seems forever

PS - I just found this girl Kina Grannis yesterday. I spent all last night listening to her pretty little voice. Plus, she is sleek and gorgeous! I love the jelly bean art in this video.

and this SWEET cover of Foster The People! I love this! And her bearded gentleman friend has the voice of an angel.

I am sitting on the floor with the laptop and jared is on the couch. we are bouncing back and forth brilliant songs from our early years (aka 1990s). we ask ourselves why music isn't made the way it used to be.
:
why, i ask. why?!
:
for instance...when was the last time there was a song even comparable to these:
a long december, counting crows.
desperately wanting, better than ezra.
here's to the night, eve 6.
lightning crashes, live.
glycerine, bush.
sublime, collective soul, cranberries, third eye blind.
:
oh, the good days.
