{Me. In 1988, I believe.}

in honor of today's prompt at mama's losin it,

here's a little something you may (or may not) want to know:

when i was a wild and crazy four year-old little girl, i broke my right leg when i fell off a barstool in my aunt jackie's kitchen when we were visiting her at her new apartment in burley

right before

she married

her husband.

my aunt jan scooped me up and laid me on the couch where i cried myself to sleep.

it hurt something fierce, i believe.

i still remember the night i took my cast off.

my mom was vacuuming.

it was dark outside.

i begged her to let me take it off early.

and she let me.

my leg tingled like crazy.

then i ran around like a wild comanche.

and i never fell off a barstool again.

{the end}

PS: now click here to check out my from the vintage farm stuff - new things to be posted within the day.

PSS: I ate leftover homemade blueberry-peach crisp with costco vanilla ice cream

and i ate it for breakfast.

in fact i just ate the last bite.

wish you were here. i would have shared.

it's going to be a delicious day.

hope yours is too.

So, today, one of Mama Kat's blogging prompts is "show us something you made by hand".
This doesn't necessarily fit completely in that category since I didn't techinically make this piece, but I refinished it..."by hand"... And it's sold already. Business is good. Business is good.

Here you go:

today,
the tough decision
will be...
paisley

or stripes
{my mama is here today
and a lovely project is certainly in the works.}
...more to come...
the end.

{Thanks to this fine lady over at Mama's Losin' It for the fun writing prompt!}

Tada. Part II.

Mama's Losin It Writing Prompt:

5.) Show us something you made!

--------------

So, you may remember this post awhile back. That dresser ended up selling on craigslist for a reasonable amount. So, I bought another one at Deseret Industries for $55. Stripper, stain and a few new hardware pieces were about another $20, give-or-take!

Here are some before and after pictures. In reference to the writing prompt, I suppose it isn't something that I truly "made". But I did "fix" it with my own two hands!

November 15th, 2008

My sweet Morgan,
When you sleep at night, I whisper in your ear.
I tell you “I love you”.
I tell you that once upon a time ago, I wished upon all the stars in the sky
For you.
And that I dreamed of you long before you were here.
I tell you sweeter things. Eternal things.
And how always, forever,
you
are
mine.

and the stars through his soul.

(Thursday writing prompt from this gal over here)

"I encountered in the street, a very poor young man who was in love. His hat was old, his coat was worn, his elbows were in holes; water trickled through his shoes, and the stars through his soul."

Victor Hugo, Les Miserables Chapter IV

Do the stars pass through your soul?
.
.
.
They do through mine.
