Weekend, yo.

It was chilly this weekend, so we had no definite plans. We took the Littles to Buddy's and out for ice cream afterwards. And we watched a lot of tv. Also, our fridge broke, so we pulled out the ice chest to keep necessities cool until the repair man could come this morning. Turns out I'm not a very clean housewife when it comes to refrigerators. You should have seen the shiz he pulled out of the vents. Yikes.

All weekend, I thought about how cute Mr. Keller is, and how, if he wants to do something sweet for me, he doesn't bring home flowers or do the dishes. He just doesn't shave. And I love it.

Being married constitutes all sorts of perfection, such as always having oversized sweats to wear and someone warm to hold you, but also (and perhaps best of all), always having someone to make chocolate cake with at 11pm on a sunday night. We didn't go to sleep until one. Sundays are good like that.

I'm sleepy today.

Duckling.

Good things on this friday:
a fuzzy duckling head, cute new passeys, a peanut butter popcorn recipe to try, and a new vintage wool coat to wear on our date night....maybe at Buddy's? We'll see.

Have a relaxing weekend, you guys.

Xoxo.

Weekend.

I dreamed about the ocean last night. And this morning, this picture seems appropriate.

-------

We're doing the usual monday morning routine. We rested up this weekend, still reeling from holiday adventures, it seems. I even have a huge cold sore to prove the stress! (I feel as though next year will have to be much simpler in terms of plans.)

We had the both Bradshaw families over this weekend, and we spent friday night hardly believing how much time has past, playing 'remember-when' and talking about all the people we used to know and the times we spent together. Jared is up for his ten-year reunion this year, and in true Keller fashion, has already refused to go.

Saturday, we ate at my Buddy's again. That's the third time in three weeks! I'm such an italian food sort of girl, it sort of sucks me right in.

Yesterday was sort of slow and perfect, even with church right in the middle of the day. Morgan went to bed early and shortly after, Danny and I had a mini dancing party celebrating the discovery of his first tooth! That little fart is so sweet and funny, always up for smiles and laughs. This is my favorite, favorite stage and I can hardly get enough of him.

Here's to a good day. Xo.

Good.

Life is real sweet, you guys. It's true. As are silly weekends, evening drives, self portraits with your BFF, sunday naps and afternoons spent shopping solo, sans children. That was my weekend, and it was good.

As it turns out, Mr. Keller was (is) Ruby Tuesday'ed out, so Friday, we settled on Senores where Morgan poured mounds of salt and pepper on the table and drank salsa right out of the bowl. Danny turned eight weeks at 11:02pm Friday (sigh!), I bought a new purse, and Jared cooked fajitas for dinner last night. My cute yellow rain boots arrived in the mail Saturday morning and Morgan spent his weekend trapsing around the house in them. He's such a dresser-upper boy. And we get a kick out of it.

We get a kick out of lots of things. It's sort of the story of our lives.

Hope you smiled a lot this weekend.
Xo.

And that's your weekend update.

Mr. Keller and I went on an early-morning date to the flea market on Saturday. It was lovely! We came home with a load of Vintage Farm goods, one of them being one of those 'finders-keepers' sort of things. I will post pictures of it soon!

While we were out, two strangers asked if I was 'getting close' (to delivering), which had me rolling my eyes and reminiscing about the days when people started asking me the same thing when I was pregnant with Morgan. Still three months out.

Highlights of the day included Morgan saying 'Hi daddy! Hi daddy!' loudly, over and over, as Jared passed the sacrament, and finding three toy cars in the fridge by the milk when I was fixing lunch. Jared also came running to tell me Morgan had just started coughing and ran to the bathroom to finishing 'coughing' (pretending to throw up) over the toilet, like he's seen me do in the recent months! Silly boy.

We had steak fajitas for dinner tonight and bright delicious oranges for dessert. For now, Jared's ironing, Bella's snoring in the corner and my house looks like a toy bomb went off in every single room.
I'm going to bed. Goodnight.

PS - Fishy number two accidentally got poured out onto the grass for a few seconds while we were in the process of changing the water. Turns out he likes life in the water much better.

H a p p y W e e k e n d.

Today is F r i d a y, and more importantly, the w e e k e n d. Which, most of the time, means nothing special, really. Just the usual (and I love 'usual').

'Usual' usually equates to:

Wearing my Dateline detective badge,
staying up late,
pizza sometime,
a Morgan sleepover (since he sleeps in later in our bed!),
a drive around town
and snuggling on the couch.

I even shaved my legs this morning. Icing-on-cake, right? (Boy, lucky someone.)

Hope you have a silly weekend!
We'll be thinking of you.

"No, these are."

On the weekend, Morg and daddy dress the same. It's darn near the cutest thing I get see all week long. They wear blue hats and t-shirts, and Morgan goes around pointing to himself saying, "Dad. Dad!"

I say, "Yes, Morgan. Just like Dad."

(He has no idea.)

We go to thrifting and to Cal Ranch, and if there are no melt-downs, we let someone else cook for us.

Weekends are grand.

In the car on Saturday, we played 'Remember when?' and traveled back to when we were younger and childless. We slept when we wanted, ate what we wanted. We were skinnier, hotter. We stayed up later. We spent more money. We did our own thing. And it was nice, it was.

But this is better.

We both agreed.

When I caught myself saying, "Those were the days", I stopped.

Jared said, "No, these are."

And they are. We realize it when we see there's nothing warmer or more sunny than the face of our child. When he plops his little knees to the floor for family prayer each night. When I bend down for our long 'night-night' hug and he sighs and melts in my arms. When he tells all the babies in his books 'No, no! Pee pee! Potty!', or like this morning when I actually got dressed for the day and he pointed to me, smiled and said 'Pitty!' (pretty).

My life is pretty.

Weekend with Morg.

This weekend we wore our goggles and went to work.

We were extra silly.

And took pictures of ourselves.

And bundled up to see Santa Claus.

And stained our face and hands a lovely shade of blue.

We wore boots too big.

And ran around the house with no pants on.......

....which is the best kind of weekend business there is.

The End!
