Fishing

Memorial Day weekend was quiet for us, which was just what we needed. Both kids have passed colds back and forth for the last little while, Sugar being the last one to have it. This weekend was no different, and he was teething, coughy, grouchy and under the (rainy) weather.

We took it easy. We took turns napping, ate good food, watched a few good shows and finally, when Monday rolled around and the rain let up, it was time to go fishing. Morgan got his very own fishing pole a few weeks ago and has been pratically beggining us to take him out everyday since. Driving there, I wasn't sure who was more excited, Jared or our three year-old in the backseat. I'm pretty sure he's waited his whole parenthood life to experience that first-catch-ever moment with his son. I'm just glad I was able to capture it with my camera. I will love the picture above for as long as I live.

It was sort of perfect, even with a little rain, sitting on the dock with my camera in hand, thinking how sweet my life is and how big of a crush I have on my husband. He's so good at everything he does and he's so sweet with our boys. I love you, Jared Keller. I really do.

Here are a few a large handful of pictures from the afternoon at Foster:

{Easter}

Sunday morning, we took a drive to Preston to go to church with grandma and grandpa and to spend the afternoon there. It was sunny and warm and spring-like. All the fields looked so pretty against the blue mountains. Easter is such a peaceful holiday, full of sweet colors and soft feelings of how blessed we are and how perfect God's plan is for us. I believe in Jesus Christ, in the love that He has for me and in the redeeming power of the atonement. I keep these things deep in my heart and know them to be true. I'm thankful that I know. It's the source of my greatest joy, knowing that we can be together forever and that death is not the end. It never could be. This great, expansive world we live in is evidence enough. All we have to do is look around. There is reflection of heaven in everything. And promise, too. After winter comes spring. The real spring where nothing (and no one) will ever wither again. What a joyous promise full of intention and love.

Love.
I love springtime,
pink lipstick,
old pearls,
my Savior
and my family of men.

All three.

Saturday evening at home:

Slinkies, Lady and The Tramp dvd, a new truck for Sugar and a toy lawn trimmer for Morg, a new dress for me and candy for the Mister.
