spring, eating mud, and lots and lots of yardwork.

my head's been spinning, i tell you what! all winter long, i daydream of sun. well, sun has arrived. and i feel so much better. i feel so good! and so motivated, with a list long of projects.

thanks to bella, our yard is a disaster. while she's been super sleepy since she's tending to a growing belly, she's already pulled out bushes i planted last week. (insert lots of swear words here.) really! that dog is bound to be the death of me.

(not without a fight, though.)

i won't go down without a fight.

last night, we spent the evening raking, shoveling, and tossing rocks. and burning my leftover garden goods from last year. (oh, it smelled so yummy! just like home sweet home!)

we worked side by side in the yard as mr. morgan squealed and thought he was free. with my hands caked with mud, i pictured living on a farm someday and having lots of children around me, playing and working and laughing.

on so many days, one child fills up my arms (and heart). other days, there are dreams.

last night i was dreaming.

then morgan ate dirt and sat in a big hole full of mud. and threw a royal fit when it was time for him to turn in for the night.

i love my 'one' so much it makes my heart hurt in such a sweet way.
and while one might not be enough forever, one feels so enough right now.

whew.

in other news, my list of 'to-do's':

a new (old) patio table
restain the deck
build a deck railing
more bushes
and flowers! lots of flowers!

ps...guess who got a new vaccum!
guess who has been vacuuming nonstop since yesterday!

pss...wonder why there's no capitalizations in this post? while i was vacuuming (nonstop since yesterday), morg snuck into the office and pulled off the shift keys on the computer keyboard and we can't figure out how to put them back on. (we can't even figure out how he pulled them off in the first place.)

psss...we cheated a little and left morg in nursery on sunday all by himself. while i enjoyed (and got to listen to) relief society for the first time in a long time, i was so lonesome for my sidekick. after all, he's been my sidekick for almost eighteen months. i must admit, i felt a little lost without him.

pssss...my front yard trees have green buds on them! and the fruit trees next door are in bloom.

oh, i think we have made it through another winter, my darlings. i think we have, indeed!

  1. How did Morg do in nursery? Jace is awful! Honestly. I'm afraid the nursery leaders are going to leave the church if he doesn't master it soon.
