We family field-tripped it to Cal-Ranch this evening to see the little baby chicks. And oh, my goodness, they were so cute. So, so cute, with an emphasis on the word 'so'. (You got it?)
Although it smelled something fierce there (and I mean something fierce!), it's hard to resist such darling chirps and those fuzzy little bodies. I was extra excited for Morg to see them. Perhaps a little too excited, because Jared's face turned a lovely shade of red when I squealed and said, "Look Morg! A little chickie just like you!"
(Yeah, Hollie, like Cal-Ranch is a zoo!)
Ah, well. Most days I forget that there are others in the world besides mommy and son. And those little chickies...! Irresistable. I wanted to bring one home with me!
{A little baby ducky. And look! He's smiling!}
{The End}
I LOVE this time of year at Cal-Ranch. I could go without the lovely smell of them; BUT they are too irresistible to stay away from. My kids get so excited every spring to make the trek down there and ooh and ahh over every chick and beg us to bring one home. Maybe one year, we'll cave in, but I doubt it. New life is wonderful to see!
ReplyDeleteTommorrow we will be field triping to Cal Ranch. I remember doing this when I was a child, but have never taken my kids. Tommorrow, I will.
