Mr. Morgan

This is the sight I found when I walked into the office a few days ago! Morgan was sitting on the chair. And he was typing! I mean, like really typing. Meticulously. Isn't it crazy how much they pick up on by observing?!

He's becoming quite the houdini these days. Yesterday morning, I found him sitting on top of this very same desk with his little hand wedged in our coin jar playing around with pennies and dimes. He's always climbing on chairs and couches and if we're sitting on the couch with him, he'll step on our shoulders to climb onto the back of the couch. Silly, silly!

He's also talking a lot more! Which sort of melts my heart and makes me feel like doing cartwheels, (though I don't know how to). I can't even do a somersault. I'm kind of lame that way.

Here's a few words he's saying:
mom mom mom
dadadadd
beba (bella)
app-e (apple)
ight (light)
hi
hat
yes
sit
get ("get in your corner Bella")
ice
toot
keet (kitty cat)
"boo" when he's playing peak-a-boo
and "boop" when he's "doing work" (you know the kind)

Also, the other day, when we went to visit daddy at work, a lady walked by and asked, "how are you?"

Morgan replied matter-of-factly: Good!

I couldn't believe it! I squealed and asked him the same question about fifty times during the rest of the day!!! This was never something we had attempted to teach him, and I couldn't believe he had just picked up on it.

Now, whenever you ask him "how are you?" he knows he gets great reaction when he answers and he says 'gooooood' sooooooo cutely!

He knows how to 'knock on doors', he knows how to dance and twirl in circles and he loves, loves, loves Barney, which really kind of drives me crazy. He also loves cell phones, remotes and pens. He pretends that all three are phones and usually walks around saying 'hi dada' with each item up to his ear.

It's incredible to me to see how much he learns and how quickly he does so. His smallest triumphs fill me with such excitement, such joy. And while I spend my days picking up trails of toy trucks and tractors and emptying garbages full of diapers, through all of the work, I find myself smitten. And blessed. So very, very blessed.
