Yard sale, lemonade stand, a trip to the cabin, back to school shopping date, first day of first grade, a visit from grandma and papa....and many many moments trying to savor the last ounces of summer.
Also, we sold our house! We've been working on our new one for the last eight weeks, and it will be ready within the next few weeks.
Also, Mr. Keller got called to be the elders quorum president.
Also, I've used about a gallon of 'Balance' oil. My prayer has been to just be able to breathe. I think we're doing pretty good. We'll be even better in one month from now.
A million pictures.....here we go....

Danny boy helping mama trim the apple tree. Wrong season, I know. But branches were almost touching the ground, poor tree.
One quiet morning -- drying some greenery from the grocery store.
Danny was feeling sick (allergies, we think) and Morgan brought him all of his favorite toys, every blanket we own and both of their pillows. So sweet.
Never too many pictures of my sweet apple tree
We had a yard sale in the middle of August. Lots of work, but I had to trim down my storage room in a bad way. I went through all the baby stuff and purged! I told myself I could keep one bin of keepsake things, but that was it. So it all went. The boys were so excited and involved in the sale.
They both had something in mind they were hoping to buy after it was all over. They both earned enough!
Here they are at their lemonade and cookie stand.
Danny was the best customer, by far. Morg was such a salesman.
We happened upon a new park in Old Town with rad play equipment!
Lots of evenings/days/mornings/anytime spent on the trampoline
Our sunflowers are in full bloom! The boys love growing sunflowers and love watching their growth.
Danny and his garden, which he has loved so dearly all summer long.
He's such a little farmer.
He took his scissors out to the garden and clipped this sunflower and brought it to me.
He said, "I got this so you would like it."
Sweet, slow Sunday morning.
Danny picked one of his big sunflowers. He told me he (the sunflower) wanted to jump with him.
So cute!
The weekend before school started, we took a few days and went to the cabin. It was so smokey, unfortunately, but still breathtaking as usual.
We had such a good time, so low-key.
We drove through Idaho Falls, went to Red Robin, and then drove over to the cabin. We unpacked then Danny and I went to the dollar store down the road and got some toys to leave there at the cabin. I had forgot to pack them any, so we got a handful of fun trinkets to leave there for the other kids, and for when we come back.
Later that night, we went for a drive to look for deer. We got a couple of movies from redbox and came home and had popcorn and watched until we were asleep.
The next day, we got up, had breakfast and drove to Jackson Hole for the day.
We took the boys to the Alpine Slide. We rode the ski lift up and slid down, each of us with a boy on our lap. Danny and I went down slowly. It is so pretty there! The view is perfection.
After the slide, we went to lunch, and then to Jenny Lake. We were hoping to canoe, but it was too windy for their rental policy, so we took the ferry instead. The boys loved the boat ride, and the hike. Everywhere you turn there's a breath-taking sight. I love that are so much. I have almost convinced Mr. Keller to buy us a cabin there. After our hike and boat ride bike, we saw a big bull moose just off the road. That was the highlight of Morgan's life, it seems. We went back to Jackson and walked around a bit, had ice cream, and then drove back to the cabin. Later, we went on another drive. We have a little adventurer on our hands named Morgan who can't seem to see enough wildlife. He loves it. We saw the sweetest white tail deer with babies, a huge owl, deer, elk, fox, skunk....and a million ospray. Morgan was in heaven. I think we all were.
We watched another movie that night, ate all our junk food, laid around and went home the next morning. We want to go back so bad.
Here's a handful of photos from our weekend there:
The next Monday, Morgan and I went on our annual school-shopping date.
He picked Chilis for lunch and Kiwi Loco for dessert. We went clothes shopping and supply shopping and talked and held hands.
I can't believe my sweetheart is in first grade.
.......and Danny's new slippers so he wouldn't feel left out!
First day of first grade!
He's holding up two fingers to tease me because I asked him to hold up one finger (for first grade!).
Morgan is attending a private Montessori school part time and homeschooling part time.
I felt such a sense of peace this school year, compared to last. We're a full week into it all, and he's loving it.
Afternoon make-believe.
Danny eating his first apple EVER!
It had to be photographed. He's such a picky eater.
Trying out last year's halloween costumes.
He flew to saturn, earfff and to gramma lorrie's.
Filling up at 'Herbivores' (as Morgan calls it)....
Our last official day of summer --- the day before school started. We had popcicles, pizza and root beer floats.
I turned around one afternoon to witness this sweetness. Such a tender moment.
Morgan went to the gun range with Mr. Keller and Danny and went on our own little date to "Kiwi Yoco" where he got alllllll the toppings. He was in heaven.
Mom and dad came for a few days over the weekend. We did some gardening, got together with Dude and his girlfriend, had a bonfire, did a little shopping, dehydrated a box of pears, hiked, read stories, snuggled, celebrated both of their birthdays (a little early), and went on a picnic to the park. They went to the beach boys concert at the new amphitheater. It was a fun time!
Road construction continues on our street. I am going craaaaazy.
It was cool for the first four weeks. We're going on eight weeks now.
A few photos from a Sunday dinner with Uncle Blane and Stacey.
Danny and Annie are twins. For real!!!
Another pool day earlier in the summer.....
One afternoon Danny boy fell asleep on the couch playing with his motorcycle. So cute!
