Weekend Business.
Yesterday, Mr. Keller came home early from his little hunting trip just for me. I think it must have been my text that persuaded him. It went something like: I've been up with a coughing morgan since 4am!!!!!!!!! I'm running a fever!!!!!!!! I am fading fast!!!!!! Come home! Please?
So he did. And then he sent me straight to bed. That sweetheart.
Extra sleep + thirteen packets of Emergen-C + means I'm feeling better today (and Morg, too), but we still took it easy. We watered the flowers, spent the afternoon on the porch and Morgan gobbled up our first red tomato. We ate chicken salad and chips and ended the evening with a slow walk after the sun went down.
Morgan is so excited to play with cousins tomorrow it took him an hour to fall asleep! I'll have my camera in tote the whole afternoon following little footsteps around. I can't wait!
Xo.
New salad to try:
2 bunches of green onions, chopped
3-4 tomatoes diced
1 green pepper diced
2 cans of dark red kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
1 small bottle of Catalina dressing
1/2 bag regular Fritos chips
Marinate vegetables in catalina dressing overnight. Add Fritos just before serving.

Weekend.
This weekend we:
ate pizza, unloaded groceries, grilled in the backyard and watched baby Danny grow. We also took turns catching up on sleep (again), finally put up a roller shade in our bedroom, re-arranged a few things in the dining room and loaded up four full garbage bags of not-needed clothes from my overflowing closet.
PS - Yes, that is a passey in the mouth of my supposed-to-be-passey-free-son. And I even gave it to him! Gah. Don't judge!

9:38pm
on a sunday evening looks like this:
stashes and stashes of toys. more toys. church clothes on the floor. sweats on the floor. dirty socks on the floor. ironing board out, iron heating. empty water bottles. empty bags of chips. dishes in the sink. bed unmade for two days straight.
good times were had this weekend.

Weekend Business, as usual.
The weekend was fairly delicious, as you can see by the pictures above. We decided to take a break from our beloved Lost (we're halfway through season 5), and we rented Knight and Day. It was stupid enough I went and laid in bed looking at pottery barn magazines and left Jared to finish it on the couch, by himself. I wanted to watch Dateline, but Jared has put the kibosh on that, since he says he makes me 'too paranoid'. It probably does. But no one can tell a real life murder mystery like Keith Morrison. And I'd watch that any day over stupid Cameron Diaz screaming every two seconds like she did in Knight and Day. My opinion: if you're going to make a CIA/action movie, make it. Make it good. If you're going to try to throw silly comedy in there, make it a comedy. When you try for 'serious' and 'silly' it plays out to be just plain horrendous. Tom Cruise knows better. Can you tell it sort of ruined my night?
Saturday was much better. I found the most adorable chalkboard tags with wooden frames at the craft store. I got out the old sewing machine and sewed up some shams for little dude's new room and Saturday evening, we went to Five Guys. I had never been, because something about dining at a place called 'Five Guys', has never been super appealing to me. It was decent, but not that great, and I really almost choked on the fries. Later, we got ice cream cones from Farrs', which made up for dinner and we all went home happy. Especially Morgan, who had two bright blue Pop Rocks flavored scoops.
Yesterday, we all took a three-hour nap and woke up at 6:00pm. Poor Jared couldn't go to sleep until 4:00am, though I conked out right away. Three hour naps don't even phase me these days! Pork Chops slow cooked all day, though neither of us wanted to eat them. We settled on hashbrowns and eggs.
PS: Can you guess what arrived this morning?!!!!!
It's the biggest purchase, other than house, car, and having a baby, that the Mr. and I have ever made.......
This pile should give you a hint:
Sooooo looking forward to going to bed tonight. (Jared, don't you get any ideas!)
Xoxo.

Weekend with Morg.
This weekend we wore our goggles and went to work.
We were extra silly.
And took pictures of ourselves.
And bundled up to see Santa Claus.
And stained our face and hands a lovely shade of blue.
We wore boots too big.
And ran around the house with no pants on.......
....which is the best kind of weekend business there is.
The End!

Weekend Roundup
This weekend, Kricket came! She brought oranges and bubble gum. (And sparkles and water bottles).
Friday evening, we watched Mr. Ohno. Ohyes, he's a looker. We rooted with patriotism in mind, but I must say, Mr. Canadian whatshisname was kinda cute as well.
Too hairy for Kricket.
But I can manage hairy. I like hairy. (Have you seen my husband?)
(I love my husband.)
Saturday, we spent a few childless hours in Vain and Vintage trying on old lady hats and shiny broach pins. I think we touched every single darling thing in the store by the time we left. I love that store.
Last night, we deemed Kricket our evening babysitter, then Jared and I went out and dated.
"Just like the old days," he said, when he opened the car door for me. I wore my leather ankle boots. And lipstick.
We ate Wingers, then walked around Video Stop looking for something good. (Seriously, just like the old days.)
We settled for an old-release, and then, not in a hurry to go home and watch it, drove around town a bit, and talked. It was so nice.
We giggled over passing a shiny blue cadillac high-planed over large berm rocks in the parking lot of Maverick. We concluded that it seemed like an elderly sort of accident.
We concluded it was really, really funny.
We noted our own age, felt much sleepier (and older) than we used to feel at that time of night, then we drove home. Home to our snuggly little boy, all tubbed and scrubbed and ready for bed.
We had a lovely time.
We said goodbye to Kricket-dear before church this morning, and now I'm planning on joining my slumbering child for a nap myself.
Hugs and kisses sent your way. Now I'm signing off! Have a cozy Sunday afternoon.
Hollie Rae Keller
PS: To Kricket: come back soon!
