Oregon coast daydreaming

While I'm very much a girl who needs wide open fields, every now and then I get heartsick for waves and salt and sand. Growing up, we drove to the coast of Oregon almost every October, usually with my mom, aunts, Grandmas Glenna and Tilley, and of course, us kids. We'd spend a few days eating real salt water taffy, taking early morning walks on the beach, and collecting all sorts of sea treasure. Next October, my parents and I are planning on taking the boys to Lincoln City. I'm anxious to carry on the tradition and will be longing for that endlessly open horizon until then.

Oregon is nearly perfect.

PS - These guys are the biggest babies! In October, hundreds come into the warf and I always end up wanting to run down the dock and sit on them. They are so sweet and funny. I wish I had one for a pet.

A great escape.

We spent last weekend in Wyoming, just us two. It was a million degrees outside, but it looked like spring everywhere we went. Everything was entirely green and delicious. It's pretty much a dream there. I kept feeling like Anne of Green Gables, pinching myself to make sure it was all real. It was real. And very romantic. And with names like Star Valley and Tincup and Grey's Lake, I'm sure Anne would approve, too. (Aren't they such lovely names?)

We had such a lovely time.

{and then he crashed. which was very funny.}

PS - Thanks to c&s keller for grandparenting morgan while we were gone!

Seeing Green!

{photo via here}

Sometimes, Jared and I lay in bed making travel plans that take us far, far away. And I tell him that someday, I'm going to have a home in the country, a cabin in the mountains, a beach house in Oregon, an old, restored southern plantation with a wrap-around porch, a beach house someplace tropical (Thailand, yes?),  and a quaint old bungalow in Maine.

And Ireland? Delcious Ireland!

How inspiring would it be to live someplace evergreen!

I'll be imagining myself there all day!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day,
my dears!
