Happy Christmas!

We had intentions of going up to the mountains to cut our own tree down, but we've been a little under the weather, so we decided a quick trip down the road would suffice for this year.

It was freeeeeezing outside, so Mr. had to be bundled up.

Finally, all done!
Best smelling tree we've ever had! Sooooo yummy!

Jared's not quite a fan just yet. He's working on it...

Dear Megan,
For your wedding reception decor, I am thinking along these lines of some sort. These in this picture are even similar to your colors. And see how cute a paisley print would be for table cloths? And daisy flowers for center pieces?

You like?
Let me know.

Xoxo.

Our Little Tree

Our little tree has been up for almost two weeks now. November 30th was the day, I believe. By the time we picked it out and loaded it in the truck, Morgan's nose looked like Rudolph's. Once we got home, it took Jared almost an hour to get our Christmas bins out of storage in the rafters above our garage. Bless his soul. I stood beside him holding our rickety old ladder while shivering (our garage is freezing) and squealing with excitement. Opening Christmas bins is seriously almost as exciting for me as Christmas day. Almost.

We spent the rest of the evening watching Christmas movies and decorating and drinking marshmallow hot chocolate in our Christmas mugs we received at our Christmas-themed wedding four years ago.

Here are some pictures from the evening we picked out our tree.

Holiday Cheer: Part One

I've had just about as much fun as a girl could have decorating this season. Seriously. I dreamed up this year's entry-way color scheme in the good ol' summer time when i found those silver ralph lauren feather down pillows on clearance at Ross' for $3.99 each. THREE NINETY-NINE, folks! After those were purchased, I picked things up here and there and this is how it all came together.

{Price Sharing}
Chair: thrift store find. $3.00.
Chair seat fabric: JoAnn's $2.50.
Basket: Ross $5.99.
Pillows: Ross $3.99 each.
Glitter leaves: Sierra's $2.50 each spray.

{PS}
My favorite places to shop: thrift stores, TJ Maxx, Ross, the dollar stores. Nearly every single thing in these pictures has come from those stores (including the furniture and mirror).
