Recent adventures.

It seems we've been adventuring every weekend the last little while. We rest up during the week and then we're off to play again. I've so enjoyed my boys this summer. No rock has been left unturned, no pinecone or stick not picked up. We've gone and gone. And we'll go some more.

School starts in four weeks from Tuesday. Morgan and I planned this morning trip to Idaho Falls for shopping. We're going to play lots more until then.

Last weekend, we had our bathtub refinished, so to avoid the leftover fumes, we went to Logan for a few days. We enjoyed playing at grandma and papa's and visiting with family. Mr. Keller helped papa put up a trampoline in their new backyard and the boys had so much fun jumping on it. They had a sleepover with Bodie and on Saturday, we went on a drive and hike. We went for ice cream and pizza and played with some other cousins that night. Why is that valley so insanely gorgeous? I go there and never want to leave.

Here are some pictures of our weekend there.

These boys wanted to climb every rock in sight.

Such gorgeous scenery. And a little Danny bum crack.

Tuckered out on the drive back.

Ice cream.

Afternoon snuggles last week. He sang and sang all afternoon. He's into making up his own songs lately.

Morgan and his dinosaurs.

Morgan finally earned enough for his new big boy bike!

Sugar's "new" big boy bike is Morgan's old bike. And apparently is a bit too big for him just yet. He fell off it on Wednesday and landed on his wrist. He cried like crazy (which he never does), and I figured it was an owie that would call for a trip to the doctor's. When I put him in the car to take him, he stopped crying and seemed fine. He said a blue sucker would make him feel better, so we went to the store instead. He picked out a blue balloon, a blue sucker and doughnut with blue frosting. And then we went home.

Two days later, he was riding again and fell again the exact same way he had two days before! I'm so stupid for letting him back on that stupid bike. He cried so hard he couldn't breathe for a few seconds and I knew there was no chance we'd escape the doctor's this time. We took him in and sure enough, poor little man has a buckle fracture on his radius bone. They wrapped it up tight in a splint and said they would put a cast on it in a week, but I'm hoping to avoid that. I'm crossing my fingers we can stick with a splint for a few weeks instead. We will see. He hasn't complained about it since Friday and last night, I unwrapped it to bathe him, and he was playing with that hand like normal. He's tough as nails.

Despite our trip to the doctor, we kept our plans to hit the cabin that night. On the drive over there, we saw so much wildlife. It was the neatest drive we've had in a long time. We saw a moose, several bucks and a bachelor group of bull elk. They were so gorgeous and healthy.

And then the sun set.

Here are a few pictures from yesterday:
