Danny Danny Danny.

At two years and seven months, Danny is in the funniest (and busiest) stage yet. He cracks us up all the time – even Morg. He brings such a light heartedness into our home and we really need that. I mean really, Mr. Keller, Morg and I all need that in a bad way! We are so lucky to have our Danny. Danny goes and says something funny or does something funny and it instantly makes us happier. Danny has such a gift that way.

He woke up Saturday morning and when Mr. Keller went to get him, the first thing he said was, “ I watch basketball, dad!”

That’s their new thing lately: basketball. They were watching it together today and Jared said pretty soon, Danny started patting his arm and then turned to him and said, “ I wuv you.”

He also LOVES working side by side with Jared. And when I say working, I mean actually working. It amazes me how disciplined he is. He loves it. He loves lifting things and moving things. He loves starting our evening fires with daddy and helping him carry the logs. And he’s so anxious to get outside and work whenever Mr. Keller is outside. Both boys love going into Mr. Keller’s hunting room with him to look at all his antlers and hunting bins. And he’s always the first to run to the door whenever daddy comes home from work. He runs and yells, “Daddy!!!!” every evening, without fail. Both boys do. It’s the sweetest sight.

Danny still doesn’t eat well. AT ALL. But I still sneak in his Green Vitality capsules full of leafy greens. He eats yogurt, peanut butter and jam (or honey), toast, quaker oat cereal, eggs and cheese. That is all. He did surprise me by asking for a carrot when I was fixing dinner the other day. He even took one bite (then spit it out). He also ate two slices of apple last week, too. Could this be progress?

It’s funny how you don’t realize how easy children pick up on routine. I was peeling potatoes the other day, and Danny saw me and said, “Yay! Church!”. He always sees me peel potatoes on Sunday, he assumed it was Sunday, even though it wasn’t!

My favorite time of day is when I get to rock him. He’s always so funny and so silly.  I love tickling him, and pestering him and making him laugh. He still loves his blanket and his passey and I still need to work on potty training him. Don’t judge! Why am I dragging my feet? I don’t know.

I made lunch early last week and made Morg a sandwhich first. I knew Danny wasn’t too hungry, but I made him a cheese sandwhich anyway and set it on the counter and pretty soon he came over, not knowing I had made it, and when he climbed up to his chair, he was so happy I had already made him lunch. He said, “Oh, thank you mom! Thank you! Thank you!” (Yes, he thanked me three times!). It was so cute!

He also loves Star Wars, but it's mostly because of big brother. He knows how to hum the Star Wars theme and the Imperial March, as well. He stays right on key. He'll start humming, and in a low voice say, "I'm Fader!"

He woke up in the middle of the night a few weeks ago and when Jared went to check on him, he said, “I
want Santa!” Hahahaha!!!!

He often has a hard time winding down at night. Probably because he really could do without a nap. But that is not happening. No way. Anyway, we often have to go in and tell him to lay down and to go to sleep. Like multiple times a night sometimes. I went in there and said: Goodnight!!! Go to sleep! Goodnight! And he said, “No, no mom. No goodnight. Good morning!!!”

Also, the other night when I laid him down, he said to me, “Sweet dreams.”

Whenever I rock him before bed, he will not let me sing any other song than Rockabye--- the version I sort of made up. He throws a royal fit if I I sing any other song. The other day, I tried to sing, “Bushel and a Peck”, and he said, “No!! NO PECK! Grandma Peck!” (Apparently, since that’s who sings that song to him all the time, grandma’s the only one allowed to sing it.)

He’s always saying, “I see that!” or, “Look at that!” and then the other day, when we were driving home from Winco, he said, “I see Taco Time mom!”

Lately, whenever I ask him to finish eating, or to pick up his toys, he says, “No! I don’t want to! Sorry!”. (Naughty!)

Naughty and sweet and ridiculously edible, we love our Danny boy.
