It's November sixth and here I am thinking it's still September. Where did the last few months go? This weekend, my mom asked me what things I had going this month and I was happy to say nothing, really. This month is one big exhale. In October, we went to Boise, to Oregon and to Utah twice. We had three Halloween parties, several church functions, and a birthday party for Mr. Morg. I tend to decline when things are too busy. It may not seem much to you, but it was for me. It's the hobbit in me, I believe. And now, it feels like it's time to settle. I have a list of recipes I want to try, books I want to read, things I want to write. This month is for those things.
Morg is enjoying every minute of preschool. It's been so good for him. He's become so chatty! He talks and talks and talks. It's amusing and exhausting sometimes. He's stopped napping in the afternoon, so he just has 'quiet time' while Danny and I sleep. He's so good! He just sits and plays on the couch with his star wars figurines, with Peter Pan playing the background. The other day we somehow slept two and a half hours and I woke up in a panic. He was still just playing on the couch. This sweet child.
Danny has so many bruises all over his body, I swear people would think I beat him. He's full of many tricks. He still eats terribly, takes his clothes off several times a day and is always teasing his brother. He's always telling me he's poopy, even when he's not. When I ask him if he is, he says, "Just farts". He was in heaven all throughout the Halloween holiday. He sneaked candy any chance he could. Just as Morg is always make-believing, Danny is following suit. He loves anything and everything his brother does. The other day, Morg took his cowboy hat and put a feather through the back of it and got a hanger and pretended to be Captain Hook. This was so funny and so clever of him since I didn't even help him out. He thought of it all his own. Pretty soon Danny was wearing the same sort of things and they played Captain Hook for hours.
Mr. Keller spends his evenings building fires and snuggling me on the couch. He's a professional at both. We tuck the boys in bed and collapse. I treasure these quiet times. We've been mastering how to make the perfect cup of hot chocolate. It includes vanilla, hazelnut creamer, whip cream and tiny marshmallows. Perfection.
I'm getting excited to start Christmas shopping. Usually I'm content with waiting it out until after Thanksgiving, but I'm so anxious this year, for everything Christmas (not just the shopping!). I told Mr. Keller not to be surprised if he comes home from work one of these days to cinnamon, cloves and Carpenters. It's bound to happen sooner than later, I'm sure. I just can't wait.
Here are some pictures of the last few weeks...
