End of May.

Since we were Morgan-less last week, Sugie and I hung out exclusively. We shopped, I tickled him extra and he even ate cookies for dinner one night. We missed our Morgan. Danny ran right up and hugged him as soon as we walked in grandma's door.

For Memorial Day, Jared's bosses gave him a big cooler, a watermelon, an extra large bag of Ruffles and a gigantic flank of a tri-tip steak. We grilled on Monday. I ate chicken.

Uncle Dude is officially graduated, has moved to Pocatello and began working at Lowes! I went to visit him on Monday and took a picture of him in his blue vest get-up. I totally embarrassed him, but life somehow moved on. I'm just glad he's a true blue and not some Home Depot butthead. Phew. Tomorrow is his day off and I've already informed him I'm dragging him yard-selling with me.

Mr. Keller has done near conquered the mess of a sprinkler system here at the Keller homestead! It's been tricky to say the least, since we only have access to irrigation and most of the sprinkler heads were buried inches in the ground! This morning, however, all of them were on and sprinkling the grass and I had a proud-wife moment, even though last week, quite heatedly, I told him I wished he would just hire someone who knows what they're doing. Yes, I'm that kind sometimes.

On our drive to Boise last friday, I started reading aloud Great Gatsby. Mr. Keller liked it enough, we read it all the way back to Pocatello and every night since, after the littles are in bed. We're almost done. And I've almost died having not seen the movie yet. Maybe this weekend?

Also, no one else may care, but for myself, oooooh! Mad Men on Sunday! Journaling about Don Draper is important (obviously). He's just so near and dear to my little heart. Mr. Keller was shocked at the unfoldings and I was clapping my hands and had to re-watch the episode again yesterday. Oh, how I've missed the good old Don and Betty days.

Anyway, here's our week in pictures. It's almost June!

  1. I hope when you see the movie, you aren't disappointed like I was. In the book, Nick seems so likeable and witty; in the movie, he's too contrived — he tries too hard to say the "just right" thing. Drove me crazy. Also, the movie couldn't capture the loveliness in Fitzgerald's writing, which is always an annoyance for English-major snobs like me. Let me know what you think!
