Sometimes during family prayer, I open my eyes for a moment to take in the scene. It always takes my breath away. I can't believe how blessed I am.
Lately, I've been taking note of how sweet Morgan's little spirit is. He has the cutest little voice and is always such a little companion for me throughout the day. He's always asking me what we're going to do today and he's becoming quite the little cleaner-upper. He can honestly clean (pick-up) the whole house by himself, without any help, and I find him picking up toys periodically throughout the day, without even being asked. He likes things neat and tidy. He's always up for helping empty the dishwasher (the utensils are his favorite), and whenever I sweep or vacuum, he runs to get his toy broom and vacuum out to help, as well. His favorite toys are always the ones that match real toys or tools.
Onto journal business.
Funny things he's said lately:
When I was getting ready for church, I put on a new red dress, and he said, "You look so sweet. You look beautiful, just a like a lady!"
Another morning, getting ready for church, "You look so pretty, with your lips and your necklace and everything".
After I said to him: morg you're my best friend, he replied, "You're my best friend, too, mommy. And grandma."
He's always saying he needs to eat all his food so he can be strong like dad.
Ever since we've been buying culligan water, Jared's been trying to teach Morg not to dump water out of his cup, but to finish drinking it. On sunday, Morgan had a little bit of water left in his cup, but wanted some juice. We told him to go dump his water out in the sink so he could have juice. He went over to the sink and just stood there. Then he said, "It's too expensive!" (Oh my gosh. A Keller, for sure.)
He loves for me to lay by him at bedtime and naptime. Most of the time we sing songs, but lately, he always says to me, "What should we talk about?".
"Don't get mad at Danny. And never ever spank him. He's just a little boy. He doesn't understand you."
And always, without fail, he asks what we're having for breakfast, lunch and dinner the following day. He's always asking to make cookies or muffins, too. The boy is a foodie.
Between the boys that are my duo, Morg's far more cautious than Danny is. He's always watching out for Danny, always trying to keep him out of trouble, even if it almost causes him a heart attack. I always know when Danny's in a dangerous spot when Morg starts his little panic scream.
Lately, he loves watching Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, a new show with a spin-off of Mr. Rogers' characters. He also saw an episode of Mr. Rogers' not too long ago and loved it. I want to buy a few dvds off Amazon, because this was my favorite show growing up, too.
He's been saying, "Oh my gosh" about everything and the other day when Danny messed up his pile of cars, Jared said he looked at Danny and said very calmly, "Sh!tballs." (Don't ask who he learned that from......)
He's getting excited for our new house and everytime we visit and see more progress, he informs us that it's looking "awesome". When we first bought it, though, and told him that was going to be our new home, he was very concerned with how smelly it was. We explained to him we were going to clean it up, but he was very worried for a while.
My little worrier.
He still loves his tiny cars -- they are still his favorite toy. He has quite the collection and loves to add to them. Whenever we do a big grocery shopping trip, I always tell him if he helps me with the groceries, at the very end he can pick out a new one. They keep him busy for hours and hours. He's very excited about halloween and of course his birthday, too. He told me he wants a yellow school bus with people in it. We'll see what we can do. I have a few bins where I rotate toys and I have a yellow bus stored away that he got over a year ago, when Danny was born. He's totally forgot about it. Watch me wrap it up and regive it to him!
According to him, here are a few of his favorites right now:
color: orange
food: pancakes
primary song: I am a Child of God
favorite store: Costco. He loves Costco. He loves churros and "spicy juice" (pop). This week, before we went shopping there, he repeated our whole list to grandma on the phone.
