...and this time it's not a piece of furniture!
We're happy to say this is the future home of the Keller household. Everything has finally been signed, sealed and delivered; keys are in hand! Because it was a short sale home, it took forever and a day (we put in our offer two months ago!), but we have finally closed. It is absolutely disgusting inside (think literal dog poop in the basement), but we are so excited to roll up our sleeves and make it ours. It's in for a full overhaul, and we'll have an intense next few weeks, but we can't wait to see it shining.
I told my mom it feels like my very first house, in a way. Mr. Keller and I have owned three different houses since we've been married, but they've all had separate basement apartments that we've rented out. It's been, of course, very cost efficient to do things this way, and we were able to own much quicker than most people our age, never having to throw money away renting, even back when we were first married and in school. But it's so time to have an entire house to ourselves. It's sort of strange and surreal, still. I can't wait to have an inside laundry room (ours has always been in the garage), a real office, a real guest bedroom (or two), a real storage room, a heated shop room for Vintage Farm, and perhaps, most of all, a wood fireplace. It's gorgeous! It's the only reason I kept begging Mr. Keller for this house in the first place. It will make our winters so much more cozy. That all seems worlds away from now, though. Like I said, the house is feral. Dog poop. Mice. Spiders. Filth. Weeds. Dead trees. Broken, chippy things. The list goes on and on. And on.
And on.
I cannot wait to see what you guys do with this home!!! I am sure it will be beautiful =) SO happy you got to spend some time at the beach...the sound of waves and Ron and I on the beach is where I think I will try to go when I am in labor. I love it!
