Bam. Hunting season is upon us and I'm feeling like a lonely widow. However, the plus side to this time of year is always the beard, which you know I love. I even beg for it prematurely all throughout the year, but since Mr. Keller feels a need to be professional at his job, he always says no. So, all year I look forward to hunting season for the beard. And that is all.
The house is coming along nicely. It's a clean slate now, with everything torn out, though you don't want to know the disgusting things Mr. Keller has encountered in the last week. I've stayed away on purpose and plan to keep a good distance until it's all finished. All I know is I'm glad his part of the project is almost done and we'll be hiring out the rest. I've missed his help with the littles in the evening time.
The gentlemen at Franklin Building Supply have become my best friends. I love them and will probably host a little party at the end of this journey and invite them into our new home. God bless those sweet, patient men.
This week I made the yummiest vegetable cheddar soup in the crockpot. And soup is on the menu again for this weekend. It must (almost) be September. I even bought ingredients to make pumpkin bread tomorrow, and judge me not, I've put away my vintage fans and sail boats and pulled out goards and orange berries. Since autumn is hands down, my favorite time of year to decorate, I decided I needed to get going before I have to pack the whole house up. It's looking rather cozy, though I'm still enjoying the sun.
Here's catch-up on my month of favorites. August twenty-second through the thirtieth.
- camping.
- swinging at the park.
- waking up on mr. keller’s side of the bed.
- texts from my dad. They are usually short, sweet and
thoughtful since I always know it probably took ten minutes for him to type the
one sentence out.
- simmering fresh cloves on the stove. Many a pan I have
ruined letting water run dry doing this. Nothing is as fresh and no wax candle
can compare to real delicious ingredients. I have some on the stove right now.
- watching old family videos. It never gets old to me.
Hauling a camcorder places is such a pain, but I never ever regret it, and I’m
so thankful my parents made the effort when we were young, even with as
expensive as camcorders were back then. It’s like sort of reliving the past. It
makes me so happy/sad/happy/sad/happy.
- popcorn at the movie theater. I know I’ve been a good girl
when Mr. Keller offers to buy me popcorn at the movies. It’s one of our
favorite things.
- wrapping Christmas presents. I love it. That is all.
- quiet time after the children are in bed. I pick up the
house, undress, relax, read and breathe.
the end.
ps....seriously.
