Salt Lake love.

Alright, folks, Salt Lake City was so much fun! It really was. I always seem to forget how close it is to where we live. It's such a gem and so very lovely in the spring. I mean the breezy, flower-fragrance-in-the-air type of lovely.

When we drove into town, we went to temple square, which is quite possibly a real piece of heaven on earth. It is so beautiful there. We parked, paid the meter and joked about coming back to a parking ticket, which an hour later, was no longer a joke, but a real pink slip tucked beneath our windshield wipers. Really, Utah? Really? Unholy words may or may not have ensued.

Onto In The Venue. There were maybe 120 people at the concert. It was so nice and intimate. Mr. Keller and I found a bench in the very back of the room next to the merchandise table. We bought overpriced drinks and I couldn't believe how sweet (and funny!) Kina Grannis is and how wonderful she sounds live. The guy who opened for her, Imaginary Friend, was so great, too. (And bearded and handsome, if you must know.) He sat next to us in the back. We bought his cd from him and he signed it, and we've been listening to him nonstop ever since we came home. Mr. Keller and I have very different taste in music, but strangely enough, he loves Kina as much as I do. And as for Imaginary Friend, he likes him, too! Yes!

We stayed in the Thanksgiving Point area, slept in until 10am the next morning, ate breakfast, shopped a little and headed home. It was a perfect little break away from our babies. (Thank you Kellers!)

Hey Utah: we love your old buildings, your A&W joints and your large, voluptuous Ikea place.
We don't love your crazy-ass drivers, your never ending stretches of construction and your meter-reader fools.

Even still, I think we'll be back soon.

Yes, I'm sure we will.
