A Morgan post

I remember sitting in a booth at Sizzler with you and daddy when I was just a few weeks pregnant with Danny boy. I had a fluke of a craving for their salad bar, so one Friday night, we found ourselves there. You weren't even two yet, but I remember you were wearing a blue corduroy jacket, looking so cute and so like your dad. You turned to him, hugged his shoulder and said 'wub-ooo', which was very clearly 'love you'. It was the very first time you said it and I will never forget.

This week, we put Danny down for the night, then we all three went out to clean up the garage. You ran around, looking for things to play with, talking our ears off. Then you looked at daddy and said to him: I'm gonna gow up to be just like you. Strong like daddy!

It nearly melted us both.

The thing about you is that you are VERY stubborn. There is very little you don't fight me on these days, and to be honest, it's exhausting. But you are so very caring and already have very deep feelings. I love you for that.

I can hardly believe you're three and so independent and smart.

Funny and sweet things you've said and done:

-(Sitting down with his legs straight out) Said: I'm old. I'm old. I can't walk anymore. Like grandma Dixon.
-Said: My butt hurts.
-Said that Danny looks like the red bird on Angry Birds (the chubby, round bird with rolls).
-Calls me 'Mommy Scott!' when he's mad at me/yelling at me, because I call him Morgan Scott when he's in trouble.
-Asked mommy 'What are you thinking about?' one day when I was sad. (So sweet.)
-Said to mommy 'I take care of you' one day when I was sick.
-Said 'My tummy hurts. I need cookies.'
-Loves to get groceries, and loves when I go grocery shopping and bring groceries back, even if he didn't get to go with me. He always says 'Yay! Groceries!' when I come home.
-Loves to eat everything, especially tomatoes, hot sauce.
-Hates bugs and spiders.
-Loves Curious George.
-Loves reading books.
-Loves Joyschool.
-Loves getting dressed all by himself.
-Wears his clothes backwards everyday.
-Doesn't wear underwear.
-Loves to make things in the kitchen. And when I make cookies or bake pretty much anything, he has to tell daddy, "Look! Mommy made cookies. For meeeee!"
-Loves to help with the dishes and put the utensils away all by himself for the first time yesterday, actually putting them in the right spots!
-Loves to be organized and doesn't like going to bed when his toys aren't put away in his room.
-Loves to help mommy clean the house, has his own toy vacuum and toy broom that he always runs to get out whenever I'm vacuuming or sweeping.
-Has been asking us several times a day 'What time is it?'
-Told me the other day when I was in the bathroom 'Good job, mommy!'
-Loves matchbox cars which he endearingly calls his 'tiny cars'
-Is very worried about what Danny is 'getting into', especially when Danny rolls over and tugs on my curtains. He's always saying to Danny, 'Don't mess with mommy's curtains! Don't mess with that!'
-When watching 'Morgan Movies' (family videos), he says 'Look! There's sweetheart Morgan!' (Sweetheart Morgan is himself when he was a baby.) He also refers to Danny as 'Sweetheart Danny' from time to time, too.
-When he asks us to do things, he says 'Can you read this to me, honey?' (So funny!)
-When he gets into trouble, is sad, or feels sick, he says very solemnly 'Poor Mo-gan! Poor Mo-gan!'
-Told me my spiked pasta utensil was a dragon.
-Asks me every morning if it is summer yet. (He's excited to go 'camping and fishing', he says.)
-Loves to have both mommy and daddy take turns laying by him before he goes to bed.

The other night, I asked him what his favorites were, and here's what he said:

Favorite color: red
Favorite food: oranges
Favorite song: Knees and Toes (Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes
Favorite movie: Puppys (101 Dalmations)
Favorite book: Toy Story
Favorite toy: Basketball
