Last Weekend

Last weekend, Papa and Grandma (and uncle Dude) came for a visit!

Morgan was under the weather and ran a fever for most of the time, so we relaxed and took care of him, while the guys worked on the deck railing. Jared surprised my mom and I with two pretty bouquets of tulips for Mother's Day. Sunday, we ate homemade cheesecake with fresh strawberries and looked through Grandma and Grandpa Dixon's old photo albums and Grandpa's high school diary. His entries about my grandma went something like this: "After our date tonight, I think she's in love with me pretty good." (So funny!) We also learned that back in the 'good old days', they had dances once a week after each basketball game, the school bus drivers were students (my grandpa), and curfew for high schoolers was somewhere in the range of one or two o'clock am (if that even counts as a curfew!). Awesome.  I ended Sunday evening feeling thankful (and sentimental, as usual). As always, we wished our company could have stayed longer, and that we lived closer. It gets sort of lonely around here without grandmas and grandpas to see!
