Sugar had his birthday party on Saturday. We've been partying daily ever since. He has been so looking forward to 'cakes' and 'miffins' and 'balloons' and 'presents' and 'grandma lorrie and grandma stacy'. Both sides of grandparents made the trip and made his day!
When I kept asking him what kind of cake he wanted, he would just say 'yellow'. So we got yellow balloons, bows, candy, sprinkles, candles and frosted the cake bright yellow. It wasn't the prettiest cake, but Sugar wasn't disappointed.
He got a pool and beach ball again (just like last year), books, a blanket, pajamas and a new movie (all Mickey Mouse), a 'big boy' fishing pole from Grandma Stacy and Papa Corrie, his very own superhero cape and a chainsaw from Grandma Lorrie and Papa Scott and a nice new lawn mower from us. Every day is asks to go fishing, and he asks to mow the lawn and trim the trees down, so he was in heaven with these special presents. When we wheeled in the lawn mower at the end, he was so cute and just beaming. It's a neat toy, that makes a noise when you pull the starter string.
{Safety goggles for his chainsaw --- it really works and makes noise!)
{Danny catching a glimpse of his new lawn mower! I love this picture! Pure surprise and joy!}
{Cute little gas can!}
He eventually ran downstairs to get his other lawn mower.Two now! (And actually three, if you count Morg's).
Worker boy!
Trying mow and chain saw at the same time.
His "Happy Birthday Danny and the Dinosaur" book I found at D.I. months ago. I had been waiting to give it to him. Danny in the book is a little blonde haired boy, just like my Danny. This book was perfect.
We also gave him a little tote with four little stuffed animal puppies. He was loving on them all night.
He got so good at blowing candles out this year! Sunday, we blew out candles in leftover cake, and Monday, too. And today (his actual birthday), we blew out candles in birthday pancakes topped with ice cream and sprinkles.
After cake and ice cream, we went to the church parking lot, so we could all watch Morg ride his bike without training wheels. When we came back, we said goodbye to the Kellers and Danny ran inside to get his chainsaw. Time to work!
A quick picture before the Dixons left. I love how Danny is playing with Duncle Dude's dogtags.
We came inside, bathed and got in our Mickey Mouse pjs and watched our new Mickey movie before bed.
What a happy day for Sugar!
