Happy happy happy new year. It's January.....woot.

We had a happy, happy New Year. We hope you did, too. We got a babysitter for a few hours New Years Eve, but then came home and fell asleep before midnight. You bet. Mr. Keller woke me up at 12:06 and kissed me. I think I kissed him back, maybe. Then we both didn't move until morning. Christmas wiped us out, it seems. We did have a  New Year's breakfast though, and we toasted with sparkling cider over bacon, fried eggs and toast with homemade raspberry jam our neighbors gifted us for Christmas. Grandma, Papa and uncle Dude came visiting on Thursday and spent the weekend with us. We went shopping one day, to dinner another day, and Morg got to go to Frozen on a special date all by himself with grandma and papa. He was so excited!

Dude is off to basic training and we're so proud of him, and nervous for him, too. We're anxious for it to be over with and for him to come back, but that won't be until May. It will be a long spring.

We packed away Christmas for another year and we're all a little sad. Morgan especially. We truly had a magical season and we're sad to have it behind us. We enjoyed so much hot chocolate by the fire at night, reading all of our Christmas books, singing every Christmas song we knew and of course, the daily anticipation of what Santa would bring on Christmas Eve night. We are thankful for the memories that were made and the pictures that were taken. We won't soon forget this Christmas.

Morg was excited to finally return to preschool. He has been awarded VIP for next week and gets to fill out a sheet of paper with all of his favorites and bring eight pictures of himself. We love this sweetheart boy.

Danny, on the other hand, is our ham. He's been cracking us up so much lately. He's so hysterical. We want to eat him (and I do sometimes). He fell on his highchair tray as it was upside down with the jagged edge facing upward and hit his little bum so hard on the plastic part, he has a huge bruise on it. He cried and cried. It hurt so bad, because he rarely ever cries. He's tough as nails. Poor boy.

We've played a busy catch-up week, otherwise, and we're anxious to have some down time this weekend. A few naps are in order, and probably Chinese take-out at some point.

Here's some instagams from the last few weeks.

{New Year's morning}

Such a sad day: putting away Christmas decorations.

Danny and his pocket puppies.

Busy morning.

Corner forts, the boys' specialty.

We started watching Lost again. It's been three years, and was time. Loooove.

Grandma, we love her.

Playing for hours.

Out shopping.

Another shopping date, minus the littles.

Movie date!

Snuggling.

Saying goodbye!

My little men.

Downton Abbey premiere! You bet!

A gorgeous jade green lamp I found! I was in love, then I sold it. You know me.

Pup, the newest member of our family. He goes everywhere with us.

Padawans.

This little boy still loves the trusty old Fisher Price farm. He treasures his quiet time while Danny is napping, since there is no one around to mess up his set-up!

Danny stole my socks and wore them all day.

It's January at our house. Fur, darlings. Fur.

A cute pair of lamps I found at Ross. I took them back, but dang, should I have? They were pretty cute.

And lastly, my sweetheart horse. I fell in love ---like instantly. And even though I'm not sure where he'll hang, he's all mine. I love him so.
