Growing up, we visited the Oregon coast on an almost-yearly basis. I have so many fond memories with my cousins and grandmas there. With the boys getting a little older, I've really wanted to start
this tradition back up since we all now have littles old enough
to really enjoy it. After lots of thinking, I decided I wasn’t going to join
them this year, but at the last minute, I decided it was something we needed to do. My grandma's health declines more and more each time I see her and I knew I would be missing an opportunity to make some memories with her and the boys. I swear, it's always a major production when we travel, even just to Boise. I get so, so anxious and I have to have Jared give me a blessing every time before I can settle myself down enough to leave. I was also extremely nervous about Danny and envisioned a nightmarish ten-hour drive with
lots of shenanigans and screaming. But it all turned out beautifully -- even the drive! I was so happily surprised! Both boys did
perfectly well. We only stopped twice on the way there and grandpa (the official chauffeur) was only hit
in the head once with a flying toy launched from the back. This is obviously considered a huge success. About halfway there, we found a little park
in one of the towns we passed through and played for a while and then kept driving. The
scenery was gorgeous, as it always is, and I decided it was someplace
I could see us living someday. It’s picturesque on every side, which makes it
almost seem otherworldly. I really enjoyed it! It was the perfect getaway. The
weather was nice enough, we all slept well, the food was delicious (Mo’s!), and
I took over 900 pictures (not joking). While I’m still sorting through those, here are a few from my phone. I'm looking forward to posting more later this week.

And lastly (for tonight), this little gem from the last evening of the trip. Thank you Kenzie for making me feel young again! And for making me laugh so hard I had bladder issues. Ah, motherhood.
Oh how beautiful! I really about started to cry reading your post, because its just like my childhood. Then I saw Mo's and I instantly started craving their clamchowder! You are so lucky! I hope I'll be able to take my kiddos again soon- so fun
