Untitled title.

For Mother's day, I didn't request tulips, Symphony chocolate or a trip to TJ Maxx. I requested a weekend entirely "off-duty". Mr. Keller kindly obliged and it was so nice! Friday night, I went back to the quick-care to get another rx for this ridiculous sinus infection...which is on day 11 and is still lurking around (will I ever breathe again?!). $85 later (since when are antibiotics so spendy?!), I was on my way. And since I refused to let it keep me from my usually weekend junkin', Saturday, I got up before any of the boys and went  yard-selling almost all day. I was pooped by the end, but ended up hauling home five truckloads. A good day indeed. I picked a barn full of stuff I was dying over! It's been hard to decide what to keep and what to sell.

Saturday evening, we got another truckload of bark for the front yard, which is coming along. We need to work on the deck and on getting the grass under control. This is boring to talk about, and even more boring to think about it. I likely doubt I'll ever look back and want to remember the yard portion of the house updates (except for tree planting!). We work hard and it's hardly noticeable. Most afternoons I look out to the backyard in a daze, wondering if there really is any point. It's such a jungle of weeds and things. We hired Trugreen. They came knocking on the door at the kids' bedtime and promised a list-long of enticing things, so we jumped in, though I'm doubtful. Having a yard this big is making me feel middle-aged.

Sunday morning, I slept in and woke up to a sweet little note from Mr. Keller and hand-print drawings of the littles. I thought my heart was going to burst when Morgan sang a Mother's Day medley with the primary children at church. I don't know how many years I've looked forward to this. It was so very sweet and he was so proud and came *running* back to the pew. We hugged and I tried not to cry. My sweetheart boy.

We had spinach artichoke melts on sourdough bread (yummy recipe here) and by late afternoon, Mr. Keller had crashed. If you think the picture above is staged, it's not! I'm still dying!!! He collapsed with a bracelet on his wrist (courtesy of the one Danny Keller), and his feet propped up on the couch arm. If anyone can relate to this exhaustion, it's me. Bless his heart.

After Mr. Keller 'clocked out', Danny managed to dump out the vitamins, pour a bowl of popcorn on the carpet and stomp through it and poop on the basement carpet. It was an awesome ending to Mother's Day....chaos at its finest. I ended the day with my toes on Mr. Keller's lap, as he sat on the edge of the couch and I sprawled out on the rest of it. This is the way we spend sunday evenings each week. Oftentimes, I feel like Grandma and Grandpa Dixon, except we're watching Don Draper instead of Lawrence Welk.

This week, I've been working on Vintage Farm things when the littles are napping and after they go to bed. I picked up a few pieces for my shop and am looking forward to organizing it a bit more. Since I didn't feel much like date-night last weekend, I'm definitely looking forward to it in a few days. I'm dying to see Jay Gatsby on the big screen. Dying, I tell you.

I think that's all for now.
