Truth: It's a special occasion/treat when I buy white bread. Last night we had grilled cheese. *On white bread.* A good night indeed.
Thursday, I made meatloaf for the first time. For Mr. Keller. Because he had a hugely successful day at work, completing something he's worked so hard on for the last two months. It was a big day for him and for our future. We teased that January 17th was actually New Year's Day for us. We had sparkling cider and I watched him eat meatloaf. I'm not even close to the point of wanting to try that stuff. No, thank you.
We scored at Big Lots. I got a bracelet and two pairs of sunglasses. Morg got three learning puzzles, construction paper, glue sticks, race car pencils and a writing tablet. Who would've known the nifty things that can be found there? Afterwards, since the sun was shining, I took the boys to Great Harvest for lunch. Danny hadn't been out of the house for three weeks, except for the short walk to church on Sundays. When I strapped him in the carseat, he actually giggled. It was good to get out.
Our fireplace door should finally be ready to be picked up today. It's been so cold (it was -8 when we woke up this morning) and we've missed being cozy each night with a warm fire. Mr. Keller was so skeptical of having a wood burning fireplace, but he's totally converted now. I can't believe I've survived this long in east Idaho without one. We love our fireplace.
This weekend, we're going to Red Robin for California burgers and fries and....to pick up our new couch at Downeast. (It finally arrived!) I'm making this recipe for dinner, and Mr. Keller has to speak in church on Sunday. He came home Tuesday night and told me the bishopric had called his phone to ask if I could give a talk. He let me go on all night (and read the assigned conference talk TWICE) before fessing up that he was really the one they wanted to have speak. He had also told me that the bishop wanted to meet with me the next day about a calling, which turned out to be false, too. Ahhhh! Not nice.
Have a lovely weekend. Here's to us all getting a good nap in -- the two-hour, afternoon, comatose kind. I really love those.
