Hello again. And 13-20.

mr. keller and i went to the california coast last week, just him and i -- without our babies! we arrived home last night, salty, with sunburn souvenirs. we had a lovely time! when i fold the clothes, empty the dishwasher, and kiss my children a few thousand more times, i'll go through the mounds of pictures we took. until then, here's catchup on my month-of-favorites list. xoxo.

august thirteenth through august twentieth.

- chilled raspberries. grandma dixon had the most beautiful, luscious raspberry patch in her garden. she transplanted starts from her smithfield in the 1950s and they grew wild and strong ever snce. she'd always send us out with old cool whip containers and we'd pick them by the bowlful and eat them after they'd been refrigerated for a while.
- staying awake late at night when the moon is full and watching the shadows on the bed of the branch just outside our bedroom window. mr. keller is always sleeping then, of course, but sometimes i imagine i'm sleeping in a treehouse. i'll own one someday. and we'll probably have sleepovers in it, too.
- senore iguanas salsa. i've been known to drink it from the bowl.
laughing at completely inappropriate jokes with mr. keller. sometimes i can't believe we're actually parents. we really need to work on maturity, but we just can't help ourselves sometimes. we're so damn funny.
- getting pottery barn catalogues in the mail. oh my gosh. it's like christmas. i pour over them.
- cotton scarves. i have such the collection. i prefer wearing them over jewelry anyday.
- the sweet smell of bleach.
- looking at old pictures. old, as in thirty years ago old, or old, as in pictures from last week. pictures last longer than memory for me. how important it is to preserve what's precious. click on.
