Saturday.

Hot damn, it's been hot this whole week. Luckily, because of the lovely plague I had, we stayed indoors and kept cool. But last night, we played in the yard, weeded, pushed the kids in the swing, pulled them around in the wagon and grilled dinner on the porch. And just as it got dark, it started to rain. It's so much cooler today, I have all the windows open and I can't believe how heavenly it smells outside.

Mr. Keller got up early this morning to join the other men in our community help clean up the Charlotte fire aftermath. We took a drive up Charlotte earlier this week and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Everything was black, even the skeletons of trees. My heart goes out to the families who lost so much. I was especially moved to see how some families had staked the American flag in front of their burned homes. I kept thinking of the word hope, which is what the American flag first stood for in the first place. We're definitely sending prayers to that side of town.

Grandma and papa are coming for a quick stay tonight, and I'm looking forward to a night out with Mr. Keller. We'll probably end up at Buddy's, as we do most date nights.

In other news, Morgan is officially a boy, or whatever. The last two days he's been saying to me, "Boys have wee wees and butts." And this morning, he came out with his underwear on his head. (ohmyhell.)
