Morgan and I have been spending our autumn indoors, watching the leaves fall, and wishing for the warmer weather of yesterday. He is the one thing that makes our lives sparkle and our faces smile. If I could eat him, I would. And he's (still) growing so fast. Everyday there are new things he's learned, new words he has said.
Lately, we crack up when we hear him say corn. He used to say 'corn'. Plain and simple. Now he says his 'o/n's with 'o/y's. Like 'coy' is corn. And 'all gone' is 'all goy'. He also says 'uh oh' about everything. He's discovered how to push things he can stand on up to the countertops so he can go through drawers and reach things he otherwise couldn't. He even takes his shopping cart and tips it on its side so he can stand on it. Today we sneakily hid it from him and he went all over the house looking for it saying 'oh no!', 'oh no!'
Most nights, somewhere between bedtime and morning, he ends up inbetween us in bed. He always wakes before us and is getting quite good at carefully sneaking off the bed to go find his breakfast. This morning, I woke up to a delicious kiss right on the lips from him. Then he went and got last night's popcorn still in the bowl from the family room and ate it as we tried to wake ourselves up.
He looks more and more like Jared everyday, though as of late, he's become quite my little guy. He gets so upset when I leave him and when I come home, he won't let me out of his sight. When he was a baby, he would never ever let me rock him to sleep, and now he loves it. So do I.
Last night we watched Frosty the Snowman and learned all about Santa. He's got some fun things on his (my) wishlist this year, so Christmas should be so fun. Yesterday, I bought him a cute pair of Christmas pajamas that we'll get out after Thanksgiving. It's beens so hard for me to hold off with getting Christmas decorations out. So instead, I've done a few festive projects to hold me over until after Thanksgiving....which I've been hungry for since Halloween. Coundown's on, baby.
Jared's been under the weather for about a week now and I've made him sleep in the office a few nights because he's coughed up a storm. He's been wearing sweats a lot. And I think he's so cute when he wears sweats. So cute I bought myself a matching pair. And we snuggle. Which makes us both feel better. I think he's even feeling better now, playing footsies with me on the couch while he's watching the Sunday night game. Sweats, it is folks. Sweats, it is.
Friday we went to Sizzler (rare occasion around here!), and Morgan's decided its his favorite. He ate a plate full of mandarin oranges and green peas, steamed broccoli, toast and two ice cream cones with M&Ms. And that is after he ate an entire grilled cheese sandwich, two apple pieces and two pieces of cheese at home, right before we went out. When we got home and undressed him for his bath, his little tummy was so full I could hardly stop giggling. He's such a boy. Still, anytime food or restaurant commercials come on tv he says, "Mmmmmmmmmm!" And he says that about soooo very grown-up things like Red Lobster shrimp and chicken salad and steamed vegetables. What two year-old does that?
Mine does.
