Last Ounces.

This last week, we've been trying to soak up every last ounce of late summer sunshine. I lay in the sun on the porch while Morgan fills his blue dump truck with rocks from the berm. He feeds a few to Bella and she chews on them for a minute, or two, then spits them back out. Morgan picks them back up, and the game begins all over again.

I simply cannot get enough of the sun. Or of summer. Or of watching how magical Morgan's world is to him.

It has become magical to me.

And someday, I'll show him how trees dance to wind, and how to find faces and shapes in clouds. We'll find worms and bugs and we'll name them. Because we can. Because it's just what we'll do.

For now, we're content with blue dump trucks and rocks by the armful. With the occassional splash of sprinkler. And the occassional game of 'chase'.

And although he graduated from his little scooty to a new big-boy "ike" this weekend, it's alright by me that his toes don't yet reach the pedals. And he still needs me for a good push.

He still needs me for tubby time and snack time and nap time and bed time.

He still needs me to tickle his toes. And to wash his face. And to tuck him in just right.

Because that's just what I do.

It's what I get to do.

Because I am so blessed.

Wonderfully, deliciously blessed.

The  End.
