{Mommy & Baby Adventures}

Spring is on its way and we couldn’t be more grateful! I’ve been watching the backyard tree right off my deck waiting for its fuzzy buds to appear. They’ve appeared now and our grass has even started to green up! Though we did wake up to 3 inches of snow yesterday morning, the end is surely in sight (we think)! We’ve almost made it through!!!

-------------------------------------------------------

As for the last two weeks, Morgan and I have been quite adventurous. We took a trip to Boise and spent four days visiting our family and meeting new baby Landen who was born on 3/19/09. Congratulations Lissie and Ben....now the fun begins!

This was the farthest I had driven alone with Morgan. He surprised me, and rode very well. We didn’t even need to stop for a break!!! What a good little boy.

We visited with grandpas and grandmas, aunts, cousins and even great-grandma Dixon. She now has 60 great-grandchildren and a few on the way still. We love her very much.

We went shopping, and shopping, and shopping, and picked up a few things we’ve been needing for some time. I must say that Craigslist has a much better variety in Boise and it was worth the wait!

{our much-needed treasures}

- a dog kennel
- a camcorder
- a bumbo seat
- a high chair
- a johnny jump-up
- & a grand trip to Ross
(we won’t mention the damage done there)

We got to watch American Idol with grandma Stacy and Twilight with the Dixons, and I was very grateful for the extra hands around to help with Morgan. We relaxed and enjoyed the getaway, though we missed our daddy, and yes, our Bella dog, very VERY much.

Being away made me realize, once again, how I’m so very content at home. I love it here. I love the togetherness, the familiarity, the routine. I even see it in Morgan. He must, after all, have a little bit of dad and mom in him. He was almost giddy, even after the four-hour car ride, to be back at home. I can see in his face that he feels loved and safe. Jared and I strive for this, and are grateful when our labors are evident.

  1. Sounds like you had a great weekend! I think you are right about craig's list because I can never find what I am looking for in this area! The pictures of you with Morgan are so cute, I'm usually the one taking the pictures so I don't have very many with me and Maleah. Wow Morgan really is a big guy, or probably Maleah is just a little girl :). I can't wait to talk to you!
